While there will be many activities occurring throughout the day, none of these is more exciting and more significant that the Vanguard Awards Recognition.  This award recognizes an individual/s for his/her/their work in inclusion and diversity either with their current firm or through their career.  However, the nominee must currently work in government or any area in the building industry where they advocate for or are directly involved in the inclusion of diverse businesses into their organization.

The Vanguard Awards recipient demonstrates an exceptional understanding of diversity and inclusiveness beyond the call of duty as represented by the following criteria:

​

1. Enhances inclusion through positive communication between persons of different backgrounds.

2. Develops innovative methods for increasing and valuing diversity through wide-ranging activities.

3. Demonstrates outstanding efforts to promote an environment free from bias and discrimination.

4. Organizes, creates and facilitates various community events promoting diversity, respect, and inclusiveness.

This recognition will occur during the luncheon.  There will be:

 

1. A short video presentation

2. Presentation of the award
